Laser made in Germany
The development and production of our laser systems and the CEPHEUS laser beam source is located exclusively in Germany.
Our experts have more than two decades of experience in the field of sophisticated laser applications.
Laser processing in tool & mold making
- Laser processing in tool & mold making is used, for example, in the form of laser marking for identification and traceability or as laser ablation for surface processing.
Industry requirements
- An important requirement in tool & mold making is not least the economical manufacture of the product. In the field of toolmaking, for example, it is necessary to apply identification features or markings to metal components quickly and flexibly in a way that is abrasion-resistant, easy to read and, if possible, without pre- and post-treatment steps. In many areas of mold making, it can also be important to precisely apply a specific surface roughness, geometric element or indentation to an injection mold.
Process requirements
- The process requirements in tool & mold making are as diverse as the application. Laser marking using cost-effective pulsed nanosecond laser beam sources is particularly suitable for the flexible creation of abrasion-resistant, easy-to-read markings.

Use the flexible options for labeling your tools
By using a pulsed nanosecond laser, you can mark your tools and permanently apply specific information such as manufacturing details, material data and serial numbers. Our software offers you various marking options for generating standardized codes such as 1D and 2D barcodes as well as all typical fonts.

Laser engraving in mold making
Laser engraving is used for the selective ablation of the material. The material can either be ablated directly on the workpiece by laser irradiation or on the forming tool itself. If, for example, a defined surface structure is to be applied to injection-molded or stamped components, the negative structure can be created in the forming tool using the laser engraving process. This production method can save costs, especially for large quantities.
